Biokleen Celebrates 25 Years of Family Owned Manufacturing and Natural Products Innovation
VANCOUVER, Washington (February 11, 2014) In 2014, Biokleen celebrates twenty-five years as a family owned and operated manufacturer of plant and mineral based cleaning products that work, used by families and pet owners worldwide. Founder Jim Rimer started Biokleen in his garage, in 1989, as an alternative to mainstream cleaning chemicals that he suspected were making his customers sick after he saw the hazards listed on their Material Safety Data Sheets.
“Before Biokleen, there was very little awareness about the health and environmental dangers posed by toxins in cleaning agents and laundry detergents,” said Cindy Rimer, Biokleen’s VP of Sales and Marketing/Director, and Jim’s daughter. “In recognizing this tremendous milestone, we not only celebrate our company, but applaud the millions of Americans who’ve made the switch to a more conscientious lifestyle focused on human, pet and planetary wellness.”
With a rebrand, in 2006, the company positioned itself to meet cross-over consumers now more aware about the impacts of toxins. Said Cindy, “Product performance has always been Biokleen’s guiding priority, and rebranding helped us shine from the inside out.”
Today Biokleen is run by Cindy and her husband, General Manager Barry Firth at their natural products-only manufacturing facility, in Vancouver, WA. For 25 years, Biokleen has stayed committed to making their own products, supporting American jobs while maintaining control of ingredient quality and purity. Said Firth, “Our customers love that we’re a family-owned and operated manufacturer because it shows we’re not simply an investment group trying to turn a profit from well-researched demographics or trends. We’re in this because people still need better, safer ways to clean, and because we, like many Americans, see the irony in washing oil off of wildlife using an oil based product.”
For its 25th anniversary, Biokleen will focus on bringing home their message about the efficacy and affordability of natural cleaners. Said Cindy, “There is a misconception that all natural products are too expensive for families living today on a tight budget. Our concentrated natural Laundry Liquid often costs less per load than mainstream detergents.”
